Remember: Your Story Matters ⭐
'Learning how to tell your story is a journey of its own, often one of growth and healing and transformation.'
Welcome to the Collective World X Thought Catalog Newsletter. Collective World is a one-of-a-kind creative network powered by the minds and voices behind The Thought & Expression Company. We’re so glad you’re here.
Everyone has a story just waiting to be told. Sometimes we get told our stories don’t matter, or that no one wants to hear them, that they’re not “real” stories at all. Sometimes we convince ourselves that if we tell them, people will look at us differently, or we’ll lose a part of ourselves that we think is important, or people simply will not understand us. Sometimes we succumb to all the lies and let them convince us to stay quiet.
And you know what? These fears are normal. They’re all part of the human experience. It’s not always easy to open up about what we’ve been through, about who we are. It’s okay to take your time to figure out how to tell your story, or even to figure out what it really is. It’s a process, and you’ll get there. Just be kind to yourself along the way.
But when you have the chance to tell your story, I hope you choose to tell it. I hope you open your mouth and fill your lungs with air, and then I hope you let it all out. I hope you speak your truth the way you always dreamed of, without censoring or embarrassment or guilt. And along the way, I hope you find the people who lend you their ears, who resonate with your experiences, and who offer you a shoulder to lean on when your words feel too heavy.
It’s okay if that day isn’t today. Just know that it will be someday.
Learning how to tell your story is a journey of its own, often one of growth and healing and transformation. It starts by reclaiming your words, by reclaiming your experiences, by reclaiming your compassion toward yourself. It all starts right here, right now.
It starts, before anything else, with you.
