You are worthy of love.

Let me repeat that: You are worthy of love.

You don’t need to change who you are. You don’t need to wait until you’ve met a certain level of success. You don’t need to do anything at all. You are worthy of love exactly as you are.

So often we convince ourselves that the reason our relationships haven’t worked out is because something is wrong with us. Maybe that’s because someone convinced you that you aren’t enough just as you are. Maybe that’s because you convinced yourself that you will never be worthy of real, true love.

But darling, not a human on this earth is inherently unlovable. We are all just people who long to be appreciated by others but who sometimes look for it in all the wrong places. And instead of recognizing that these just aren’t the right people for us, we turn the blame inward and tell ourselves that we’re the reason it doesn’t work out right.

But the truth is this: The right person will love you for exactly who you are.

They won’t ask you to change or make yourself smaller just so they can take up more space. They won’t act embarrassed about aspects of your personality or try to manipulate your behavior with ultimatums. They would never even want to, because the right person will recognize how special it is to know someone like you—the real you.

They will love your quirks, your obsessions, your subtleties. They will love your flaws, even the things you don’t love about yourself, simply because they’re part of what makes you who you are. Because when you love someone—when you truly love someone—who they are in this moment is always, always enough.
