Trust That Love Will Come When It’s Meant To Find You ❤️
'But there’s a reason love can feel so difficult to come by, and it’s this: If it were easy, it wouldn’t mean as much.'
Welcome to the Collective World X Thought Catalog Newsletter. Collective World is a one-of-a-kind creative network powered by the minds and voices behind The Thought & Expression Company. We’re so glad you’re here.
So many of us are searching for love like it’s something we can just pick up in the grocery aisle of Target—or at a bar, or in a bookstore, or on a dating app. We want love to be convenient as anything else and just as easy to find.
It rarely is, though, isn’t it?
But there’s a reason love can feel so difficult to come by, and it’s this: If it were easy, it wouldn’t mean as much.
If we could just fall in love with anyone at any time, we’d constantly be falling for the wrong people, for the ones who aren’t really meant for us. If true love wasn’t something so rare, it wouldn’t be so special—it would feel as insignificant as a Tuesday or a dentist appointment. If love was something you could get the moment you decided you wanted it, you might find it before you’re actually ready, ultimately dooming it.
Life often works in mysterious ways. Sometimes we need time to grow before we’re ready for a healthy relationship. Sometimes we need to stumble for all the wrong people to prepare us to fall for just the right one. Sometimes we simply need to wait because the right person is coming, they just haven’t been introduced into our life yet, and once we meet them, we’ll be glad it never worked out with anyone else.
It’s difficult to trust the timing of the universe when you can’t see the bigger picture. But please remember this: Love will come when it’s meant to find you. Not a second earlier, not a second later.
And maybe that means you have to wait a little longer than you hoped. Maybe that means you have to keep putting yourself out there, even when you’re tired of it. Maybe that means your life path won’t look exactly how you planned for it to when you were younger, but face it, it rarely ever does.
Just don’t give up hope. Don’t close off your heart. Don’t settle for someone who seems wrong for you but is just good enough. Because when the time is right and love finally finds you, it will make everything else worth it.
What We’re Reading This Week 📖💛
“I know grief has never lent itself to a cohesive narrative, a linear journey. The theorized five stages dance out of sync, coming in and out of hearts, not unlike an overly comfortable house guest.” — Molly Burford
“Please don’t take my love and weaponize it; don’t point it at yourself and make it something violent.” — Bianca Sparacino
“The most radical act in a sick society is to heal yourself, then gently help others heal too.” — James McCrae
“Something had to change, because I’d never be free, be myself, if I kept it up.” — Miralazine
“Going off the grid, while certainly a Romantic proposal, is no different to an ostrich putting its head in the sand.” — Günseli Yalcinkaya

Let us leave you with this:
“The love that is meant to be yours will find you
when you stop looking for it.
And when it comes, it will make itself known
and you’ll think,
oh, it’s you I was looking for,
and you’ll understand that
things come together when they’re supposed to.
So when love comes, open your heart.
Watch it fit and fold together
the way it was meant to.” — Kelly Peacock
